We are looking for a Spec Writer to join our team Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for executing multiple projects simultaneously while overseeing each stage of completion. You will also be in charge of creating and managing technical documentation.
**FUNCTIONAL TASKS**
- Conduct client needs assessments in collaboration with the sales representative.
- Develop or conceptualize a design and configure vehicles according to the assessed needs.
- Plan the execution stages while adhering to the approved budget and timeline.
- Create, plan, supervise, and assemble project files.
- Interpret, understand, and comply with plans and fire truck specifications.
- Prepare, negotiate, and approve all documents related to projects.
- Analyze and adhere to project costs and progress.
- Write and respond to technical specifications from municipalities.
- Respond to tenders.
- Ensure communication between the production line and the client.
- Design, write, and update technical documentation.
- Assist in the review and approval of technical documents in support of representatives.
- Draft and review technical documents.
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Holder of a diploma in mechanical engineering (an asset) or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in project management.
- Familiarity with the tendering process and procurement management.
- Knowledge of the fire industry and heavy vehicle industry (an asset).
**SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS**
- Excellent organizational skills, rigorous, and autonomous.
- Strong priority management skills.
- Good communicator.
- Proficient in Excel and Word - computer systems.
- Resourceful, self-reliant, conscientious, and a good team player.
**ADDITIONAL INFORMATION**
- Salary: Based on experience.
- In office work enviroment
- Friday afternoons off throughout the year.
- 13 paid leave days.
- Start date: ASAP
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Group insurance: After a 3-month probation period.
- RRSP Contribution: After one year of continuous employment.
