TEACHING PASTOR - LIFE MINISTRIES

**Church and Position Overview**

Inspiration 9 Church is a non-denominational church with conservative evangelical values. I9 was launched during the height of the pandemic in the Fall of 2020 and is a stable growing congregation of about 200 people. I9 is looking to expand our team with the addition of a Teaching Pastor. The Teaching Pastor, emphasizing on life ministries, is responsible for ministering the Word of God and assimilating believers into effective members of the body of Christ. The Pastor will follow up, teach, comfort and develop healthy relationships with the congregation, their families and the local community outside of the walls of the church. The Pastor will have responsibilities for engaging in pastoral care ministries to meet the needs of persons inside the church and in the community.

The Pastor will have an active role in working in conjunction with the Innovative Arts Director (IAD) to implement the Creative Arts and Media into i9 community.

**Primary Job Responsibilities**:

- Create & communicate strategic vision & values with leadership and implement within i9 community
- Manage the efforts and activities of ministries (Children’s Church, Youth & Young Adults) in alignment with church vision, values, goals and objectives.
- Responsible for recruitment and training of church volunteers into ministries of oversight
- Develop the full commission of a believer to worship, pray, disciple and evangelize.
- Develop and prepare teachings and curriculum for life ministries & discipleship
- Work in conjunction with IAD to implement creative arts into life ministries
- Sound Doctrine in alignment with i9 beliefs
- Ability to network with community and grow existing ministries
- Organize events and other activities to reach people
- Congregational Care (ie. Counselling, prayer and visitations)

**Experience Required**:

- High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
- Post Secondary Degree or Diploma (preferably in religious studies), or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience required.
- 5+ years experience working/volunteering in ministry

**Core Qualifications**:

- In good standing with recognized organizational authority as a minister (or in training)
- Ability to supervise and train volunteers, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling ministry events.
- Excellent people skills, teamwork and team building skills.
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with co-workers, congregation and community.
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with both children and adults.
- Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and other events.
- Strong leadership skills and a teachable spirit.
- Self-starter and spiritually mature.
- Knowledge of Sound Doctrine in accordance with i9 Tenets
- Proficient with social media

**Working Conditions**:

- Attend i9 Church

**Employment Terms**
- Term is a one-year contract with conditional option of permanent for the right individual
- 40hrs/weekly (Schedule will include Sunday mornings and Monday & Friday Evenings)
- Remuneration will be commensurate with a full-time position based on qualifications and experience. Full benefits with RRSP match and phone allowance. Clergy housing allowance will be available when licensed.
