Reporting to the Procurement Analyst, the Jr. Buyer will be responsible for the procurement of quality production materials at the most competitive price to meet requirements of Transcontinental Whitby’s production and customer’s requirements.

**Objectives**
- Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives
- Researching and comparing suppliers, goods, and services.
- Selecting the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency.
- Monitoring inventory levels and determining purchase needs.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Coordinate shipments and pickups of all orders with the shipping department, including equipment repairs, customs clearances, while maintaining tracking, manage critical and time sensitive deliveries
- Manage waste for plant and environmental disposal
- Track and report savings both at the plant level and through corporate initiatives.
- Recommend new processes or systems for improvement, implement new ideas and strategies
- Review and process purchase requisitions for goods/services and ensures compliance with purchasing procedures and requisition requirements.
- Expedite and track all purchase orders to ensure timely delivery, quality, and effective cost for all materials to meet internal customer/manufacturing requirements.
- Assists with purchasing and negotiating MRO materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.
- Plan and manage inventory levels of purchased materials.
- Proactively and accurately maintain parts in the ERP system including lead times, price
- Manage purchase order actions (reschedules, cancels, expedites, confirmations) and ensures on time delivery.
- Manage a good relationship with internal stakeholders and identify opportunities to improve Procurement team engagement within the company
- Develop a strong positive rapport with vendors
- Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and suppliers’ invoices -Assists Accounts payable with minor changes and updates to Purchase orders.
- Complete inventory and cycle counts
- Receive goods and prepare items for shipping with couriers
- Vacation relief for Procurement Coordinator
- Adhere to corporate and unit purchasing and accounting practices and procedures

**Qualifications**
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft, office suite
- 1-3 years of previous experience in procurement or purchasing
- Experienced in industry procedures, costs, and terms

**Salary**: From $48,000.00 per year
