Early Childhood Assistant

Oshawa, Canada DMS Montessori Preschool and Daycare Inc. Full time

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborating closely with Montessorian teachers to create an enriching and engaging learning environment.
- Maintaining the health, safety, and well-being of all children in the classroom at all times.
- Following a structured daily schedule that promotes a sense of routine and stability for the children.
- Assisting in the implementation of planned Montessori activities that cater to the developmental needs of each child.
- Keeping the classroom clean, organized, and conducive to learning.
- Conducting diaper changes and maintaining proper hygiene practices.
- Providing hands-on assistance to children during feeding times, encouraging independence and healthy eating habits.
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based learning
- Manage classroom behavior and promote positive discipline techniques
- Collaborate with parents and communicate regularly about their child's progress

**Experience**:

- Previous experience working with young children in a professional setting
- Experience in nannying or babysitting roles is a plus
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies
- Ability to create engaging and educational lesson plans
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; Early Childhood Education certification is a plus.
- Previous experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting.
- Familiarity with Montessori philosophy and principles is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassionate, patient, and nurturing attitude towards children.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
- First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.
