Winter Foreperson

**What Does a Winter Foreperson Do?**:
The Winter Foreperson will supervise the day-to-day field maintenance operations on all highway infrastructures within the Contract. The Winter Foreperson will be responsible for all drivers and yards within the contract areas of Harriston, Arthur and Durham, ON.

**As a Winter Foreperson, You Will**:

- Promote, lead, and execute a Safety-First culture for all employees in compliance with Murray Group Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) polices
- Organize operators to report for winter plowing and salting operations
- Ability to train new operators for winter duties
- Ensure work completed meets quality standards, that preparation and submittal of required reports, documentation, and logs to MTO are completed
- Ensure that equipment repairs are completed and mechanics deployed, along with a sense of urgency and timeliness
- Ensure that routine maintenance and cleaning of trucks is completed by drivers
- Review operator performance and correct any actions where necessary
- Calibrate trucks monthly or as needed
- Administrative responsibilities as required
- Operate combo units on an as-needed basis to cover vacation and sick days
- All other duties assigned

**What You'll Bring**:

- Valid DZ or greater license with clean driver’s abstract, an asset
- Mechanical aptitude, considered an asset
- Plowing and salting experience, an asset
- Knowledge of CVOR requirements and MTO Regulations
- Strong knowledge of Schedule 1 and how to perform vehicle inspections
- Ability to operate a loader
- Familiar with the MOL standards and legislations
- Ability to fill out MTO forms and reports
- Basic computer knowledge
- Excellent organizational skills
- Willingness to work all shift schedules including days, weekends, and nights and remain on call as required for the role
- Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions where necessary
