**Role and objectives**:
The CNC Operator, under the direction of the Production Supervisor/Director, Innovation & Fabrication, is responsible for the precise operation and coordination of our state-of-the-art CNC Machines, which currently include the Biesse CLT 400 Dual Spindle Gantry CNC, the Hundegger Robot Drive 1300 Max, and a Hundegger PBA - a Dual Spindle Gantry CNC. The CNC operator is responsible for, and must be proficient at maximizing uptime, interpreting CAD and other industrial drawings and blueprints, maintaining tools and preventative maintenance, and ensuring high quality control by making necessary adjustments to maintain consistency. The operator must also have excellent attention to detail and a strong emphasis on computer-operated equipment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Understand and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Respect and respond to direction given.
- Load and unload machine safely, while maximizing offload and re-load efficiencies
- Manage and coordinate production flow through both CNC machines to meet delivery schedules.
- Ensure all timber panels and beams are milled with precision and of the highest quality to meet customer expectations.
- Conduct QC on machine-cut parts to ensure the accuracy of the specified drawings.
- Train new employees, and ensure performance is to standard.
- Maintain tooling to ensure high uptime performance together with CNC Coordinator
- Perform regular inspections of machines to ensure precision accuracy and maintain machine condition.
- Recognizes and report machine issues/warnings immediately to CNC Coordinator or Supervisor
- Ensures precise maintenance of programs and program files.
- Report production progress daily
- Performs routine cleaning, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintains orderly work, storage areas and department.
- Be open for suggestions, change and adjustments for constant improvement.
- Secondary duties required as per related SWP.
- Perform other duties as required.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; with consideration for applicants with successful completion of a post-secondary program considered an asset.
- One (1) year(s) minimum experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to use and read all measuring equipment associated with this trade (e.g., calipers, tape measure, squares, etc.).
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and software computer programs.
- Experience as a CNC Operator an asset - preference given to those with woodworking CNC background.
- Knowledge and experience with Biesse Works and Cambium an asset.
- Knowledge of safe operation of CNC Machines, Cranes, Rigging and Material Handling an asset
- Lumber grading, or wood product knowledge an asset.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, interact well with employees in all departments and have a high degree of attention to detail.
- Receptive to change - can adapt to changing circumstances.
- Makes suggestions for improvement.
- Proactive in ensuring job knowledge is current.
