Maintenance Person

West Sport Fishing operates King Pacific Lodge, a remote, luxury sport fishing lodge located on the along the shoreline of the Great Bear Rainforest, within the territory of the Heiltsuk people. Our lodge provides an escape from the ordinary, where guests can enjoy the stunning beauty of the coast, incredible fishing opportunities, and exceptional hospitality.

We are currently seeking applicants for the seasonal position of Maintenance Worker/Marine Mechanic. The position start date is April 1st, 2024, and will end on or around September 30th, 2024.

Starting April 1st, the Maintenance Worker/Marine Mechanic will work in Campbell River, BC, at the facility’s off-season mooring site. Pre-season duties will include on the job training, review of current procedures, and planning for the operating season. The KPL Maintenance Worker/Marine Mechanic will work on location in Bella Bella, BC, starting in late May, running the day-to-day maintenance operations of the facility. This includes maintenance of the following: outboard engines, diesel generators, water system, large & small appliances including vacuum packers, pressure washers, refrigeration, laundry machines, as well as general maintenance of the facility.

- have exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving & communication skills
- be mindful of cleanliness and organization
- have a love & respect for BC Coastal waters and land
- be willing to work in remote locations and adapt to changing environments
- have a minimum of beginner level experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- have marine or automotive mechanical certifications - completion of an apprenticeship program is an asset
- have previous experience at a remote fishing lodge or camp
- have knowledge of the Great Bear Rainforest
- have an interest in sport fishing

Competitive salary, negotiable & commiserate with experience, including participation in the staff gratuity pool during the operating season.
