The Department of Families is seeking qualified individuals to fill the Financial Worker position in Morden, Manitoba.

Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- Experience performing clerical and administrative duties including working with financial matters in an office environment.
- Experience interviewing people for the purpose of gathering and verifying information and identifying needs.
- Excellent decision making skills, including the ability to demonstrate sound judgement in order to destribute public funds.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Strong orginizational and time management skills including the ability to handle a large volume of work and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Experience working with individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively work with a diverse range of individuals and service providers.

**Desired**:

- Knowledge of the Employment and Income Assistance Program.

**Duties**:
The Financial Worker functions as a member of a case management team responsible for providing Employment and Income Assistance program services.

The Employment and Income Assistance (EIA) program is a last resort program intended to meet the basic needs of eligible participants, encouraging access and participation in the workforce for employable participants. The program also meets the special needs of persons with a disability ensuring their inclusion in the community while respecting their independence.

The EIA Financial Worker functions as a member of a case management team responsible for providing Employment and Income Assistance program services. The incumbent communicates regularly with clients, agencies and other stakeholders by telephone, in writing or in person. The incumbent calculates, processes, and issues benefits in accordance with the Manitoba Assistance Act, Regulations and policies. The incumbent reviews, recommends, orders and/or authorizes expenditures for emergency, health and/or special needs and home & minor repairs submitted by clients. The incumbent enters electronic data for clients’ budgets, pays bills, maintains client confidentiality and performs other clerical duties as assigned.
