**Objective**:
As a Quality Assurance/Quality Control Technician (QA/QC) you will be monitoring a variety of processes to ensure that the regulatory guidelines (CFIA, FDA) are met. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the foods produced at Aliya’s Foods meet the company’s high standards for safe, high quality food -- ensuring a great experience for our customers. You will report to the QA Manager and work closely with the QC Coordinator, other QA technicians, the production team, and the shipping and receiving teams to uphold all GMP and SOP standards. This will involve quantitative and qualitative measurements, product sampling as well as inspection of materials, equipment, and the production facility. Production process observation will also be required to monitor compliance.

**Required Qualifications**:

- 2-4 year University Bachelors degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Technology, or related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft software (Excel, Word, Office, etc.).
- Proficient in data collection, entry, and reporting.
- Is comfortable with computers and learning different software.
- Good understanding of Quality and Food Safety programs and document control.
- Experience with GMP requirements.
- Experience with and good understanding of HACCP programs
- Must have good understanding of Root Cause Analysis
- Is a team player that can work with others and is willing to follow directions.
- Is independent and self-motivated.
- Can work with flexible schedule in fast paced environment.
- Is proactive and assertive to seek compliance.
- Must be fluent in English

**QA/QC Technician Job Responsibilities**:
Reports to QA Manager

Equipment calibration

Plant, equipment, and ingredient inspections to ensure food quality and safety standards are met

Sampling, testing, evaluation, and swabbing of equipment, packaging materials, ingredients, water, air, and others before, during, and after production, including but not limited to:

- Pre-operation checks after sanitation and report deficiencies.
- Required swabbing of equipment, products, facilities, among others.
- Complete microbiological swabbing and sampling
- Complete product hold/release duties

Perform onsite monitoring and verification of PRP, PCP, CCPs, products specifications, and product formulations.

Monitor GMP and SOP compliance and ensure all staff comply with company policies and programs.

Maintain concise communication with management and alert management immediately when deviation occurs

Perform onsite inspections of product formulations
- Ensure ingredients are weighed correctly
- Ensure ingredient information is entered correctly into production software

Perform daily product sampling for expert panel sensory evaluation

Perform onsite inspections of incoming ingredients
- Verify ingredients against approval records
- Complete list of assigned daily tasks working alone or as a team
