**Overview**:
Toronto Metropolitan Catholic Campus Ministry is seeking a full time Campus Minister to contribute to the development of an integrated and comprehensive campus ministry program, focused on connecting campus life, student leadership and the Archdiocese of Toronto. Reporting to the Director, the Campus Minister works collaboratively with students, staff and members of Catholic Christian Outreach to foster a Catholic presence on campus.
**Responsibilities**:
- Campus Ministry Programming and Implementation_
- Provide pastoral presence, guiding and encouraging students in their spiritual, moral and personal growth and fostering their development as Catholic leaders
- In consultation with the Director, support and guide other chaplaincy team members (e.g., missionaries, student interns), mentoring one or more members of the Toronto Metropolitan Catholic Students Association (TMCSA) Executive and other leaders in leadership and spiritual formation
- Lead faith-based gatherings, including small discussion groups and faith studies for students
- Contribute to the organization of talks, retreats, prayer sessions, social events and events to foster vocations Support the Director in long-term strategic planning activities and the evaluation of the effectiveness of campus ministry initiatives
- Responsible to create and lead one advanced campus ministry program per semester
- Lead meetings representing the Director as needed.
- Provide spiritual direction and/or spiritual counseling where needed.
- Organize opportunities for liturgical and sacramental formation
- Other responsibilities as required
- Outreach and Relationship Building_
- Organize events to recruit new members during the year, especially during Orientation Week and Clubs Week
- Liaise with TMCSA and other Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) and community organizations
- Oversee social media student team to foster engagement with the chaplaincy
- Create a culture of welcoming students from nearby campuses, including George Brown and OCADU, and encourage their involvement in the TMCCM
- Participate in other activities and organizations at TMU as appropriate
- Development and Fundraising_
- Collaborate in the implementation of fundraising opportunities for TMCCM throughout the year
- Design and execute TMCCM online fundraising campaigns in alignment with yearly fundraising strategy
- Contact, meet and steward potential donors to the chaplaincy
- Participate in other development consulting initiatives as needed
- Collaboration and Professional Development_
- Work collaboratively with other campus ministries throughout the Archdiocese, other archdiocesan groups and external partners
- Pursue ongoing professional development as appropriate
**General Requirements**:
- Post-Secondary degree with related experience
- Knowledge base in theology and social sciences
- Knowledge of the Catholic faith and willingness to uphold Catholic moral teachings, while leading a life consistent with the Catholic faith
- Familiar with the needs of students and the requirements of university life
- Excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as a collaborative team member
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and website content management
- Knowledge and experience with social media
- Flexible schedule with some evenings and weekends is required
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
