**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Performs sample and reagent preparation, DNA extraction and isolation, quality analysis prior to genotyping, analysis of reagents for performance, and other related tasks.
- Perform a variety of molecular biological techniques.
- Maintains accurate laboratory notebooks and other documentation.
- Assist in maintaining the laboratory, including ordering supplies and equipment, calibrating instruments, performing preventative maintenance, and assuring a clean and safe environment.
- Follows established SOP’s accurately and efficiently, supporting ISO procedures.
- Practice good communication and collaboration with colleagues.
- Perform laboratory cleaning duties.
- Assist in the training of new employees.
- Provide input to the best ways to maximize laboratory efficiency.
- Meet individual and departmental goals and objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree or Diploma related to Laboratory Technologies or Life Sciences.
- Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Preference will be given to those familiar with molecular biology techniques.
- Detail oriented and task focused mentality.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Able to communicate efficiently and effectively through written and verbal means.
