**Status**: Full Time, Exempt
**Department**: Field Operations
**Reports to**: Operations Manager
**Position Summary**:
Plan, direct, coordinate and budget assigned construction projects by effectively guiding and managing subordinate supervisory personnel. Oversee, organize, and direct the scheduling and execution of those tasks necessary to complete construction projects within a pre-defined budget and timeline for construction. Overall responsibility for continuous project and personnel supervision, coordination, and completion of work.
Construction project locations will vary from AB, SK, MB, BC, ON.

- Ensure 100% of all company safety policies, procedures, and practices are followed.
- Ensure 100% compliance of all provincial and federal safety regulations.
- Identify safety training needs and partner with the safety department to address those needs.
- Conduct safety training when necessary.
- Project Planning and Scheduling—you fully believe that success is not achievable without a well laid out plan_
- Ultimately responsible for driving the schedule and are expected to gain buy in from supervisors to meet all milestones in the schedule.
- Oversee, organize, and direct the scheduling and execution of daily tasks to meet a pre-defined budget and timeline for construction.
- Regularly communicate with Project Manager and Field Operations Manager to ensure adequate staffing, equipment, and materials to complete the weekly and monthly task goals in line with the schedule.
- Read and understand all owners and subcontracts.
- Lead the 6 week look ahead and lean planning for the job
- Lead Construction Processes—you’re the one. The team will look to you to have the answers and find ways to solve the problems_
- Demonstrate and communicate a strong understanding of engineering plans, construction methods, and scheduling.
- Identify unfamiliar areas and find the right resources to learn from
- Effectively communicate to the site leader’s daily tasks and work with those leaders to determine team and task assignments for the day; follow up on team performance throughout the day.
- Manage subcontractors’ safety, scope, timelines, and performance.
- Be an expert in all aspects of equipment installation.
- Perform quality control checks on completed work assignments.
- Manage equipment, receiving, and installation.
- Responsible for all logistics of the jobsite (shipping, receiving, etc.)
- Responsible for effectively mobilization and demobilization of the jobsite

- Recruit, hire, and onboard new employees with the partnership of HR, Safety, and the onsite secretary.

- Create a spirit of teamwork and foster an environment of clear expectations, accountability, idea sharing, and appreciation for a job well done.
- Identify internal employees that show potential for future field leadership and invest in them.
- Identify training opportunities and provide those trainings.
**Experience**:
- Journeyman Millwright or Journeyman Welder preferred but not required.
- Must have knowledge of ag-industrial processing equipment and structural / steel erection.
- Must have knowledge of workplace safety legislation in MB, SK, AB.
- Extensive experience in being an on-site manager of large-scale industrial projects, preferably ag-industrial.
- Must have a good understanding of construction methods, schedule and blueprint reading.
- Advanced knowledge in construction methods such as excavation, structural steel, millwright, etc.
- Welding symbols and standard mechanical drafting symbols
- Substantial knowledge in concrete forming and finishing (including cold weather concrete)
- Proficient with Microsoft Project and demonstrated ability to read, understand, and meet schedule deadlines.
- Proficient in basic fabrication operations.
- Proficient in rigging and hoisting with cranes, mechanical and electric winches.
- Demonstrating leadership ability is essential.
**Typical Physical Demands**:
Must be able to climb vertically and work safely at heights in excess of 150 feet above the ground. Requires standing for prolonged periods of time, as well as some physical activity.
**Working Conditions**:
Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Requires wearing protective and/or safety equipment. Requires working outdoors exposed to all weather conditions.
