CEDA is looking to hire a skilled Journeyman Pipefitter for a short-term contract role to assist with our mechanical maintenance team.

What we Offer:

- Competitive rate of $48/hour
- Shift 7x7 (will flex to meet scope of work and client needs)

- Project starts Jan 8 and end March 31 (this will roll into the upcoming MEG TA and bring contract term to mid/end June 2025)

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

- Install new mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, air dryers, converters, heat exchangers, relief valves, pressure-reducing valves, condensate tanks, recirculation pumps, booster pumps, pneumatic controls, coils, isolation valves, 3-way valves, condensate traps)
- Fabricate and weld piping/equipment supports, brackets, guides
- Fit up and prepare piping requiring welded joints
- Liaise and collaborate with other trades, consultants and suppliers
- Cleans condensate traps and equipment strainers
- Provides occasional guidance to the primary function of others, including training.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
- Test system for leaks using testing equipment
- Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications:

- Journeyman Pipefitter certification required
- H2S Alive certificate and CSO or CSTS 2020 certification required
- First Aid, confined space, fall arrest and AWP certifications are all considered an asset
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Receptive to change - can adapt to changing circumstances
- Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 lbs. for 50 feet is required
- Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Full class 5 driver’s license (GDL not accepted) and an abstract with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years
