**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**HIGH-RISK CHILD AND YOUTH WORKER 3PM-11PM** **(Monday-Friday)**
**3 Available Positions**
- **FULL TIME: 7AM-3PM**:
- **FULL TIME: 3PM-11PM**:
- **FULL TIME: 11PM-7AM**
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
Qualifications for this position include post secondary level training in the field of humanities and experience in a related field (equivalencies will be considered). Competency based hires will be considered.
**JOB SUMMARY**:
Our Support Workers utilize solution focused youth care to address immediate issues and concerns that arise during their shift. Duties include supervising clients, documenting shift activities and ensuring the maintenance and operation of the group home environment while on shift. Our Support Workers work shift work and report to the Team Leader.
**RESPONSIBILITIES TO THE CLIENTS**:
- Ensure the needs of the clients are being met, and routine is being followed.
- Counsels and supports client when immediate issues arise.
- Maintains awareness of clients’ individual goals and treatment plans
- Role models to client through dress, behavior and attitude.
- Administers medication to clients accordingly. Ensuring that medication chart is initialed while on your shift.
- Facilitate recreational and cultural programing.
- Establish a relationship with youth based on trust respect and mutuality
- Advocate for children youth as needs arise
**RESPONSIBILITIES TO THE TEAM LEADER**:
- Assure the completion of Critical Incident Reports, Contact Notes and all other documentation as required.
- Ensures the supervisor or on-call worker is aware of all major incidents, professional contacts, and crisis within the group home.
- Ensure the Team Leader is aware of all personal needs such as in-service training, personnel file requirements, time off, etc.
- Attends relief meetings and evaluation sessions when required.
- Thoroughly document shift activities on daily youth and house logs.
- Is aware and adheres to written house policies and procedures.
- Other duties as directed by the Team Leader as needed.
**RESPONSIBILITIES TO THE TEAM**:
- Maintains a professional, open and cooperative work relationship with co-workers conducive to meeting the needs of the client.
- Provides written and verbal information transfer at shift exchange.
- Ensure the program integrity by following house rules, and ensuring that programming and consequences are consistently applied and served.
- Commits to personal well being so that individual functioning does not negatively impact the youth or the team.
- Ensures that the house if left clean prior to the next staff coming on shift, and that the shift responsibilities for that shift has been completed.
- Ensure clients complete their chores accordingly. Supervise clients to ensure that it done properly.
- Ensure household cleaning duties are completed before leaving your shift.
- Ensure log book and client logs are updated.
Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Every Weekend
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed
Work Location: In person
Expected start date: 2024-06-20
