Overview:
Your duties may include, but not limited to, safely operating power tools and materials such as saws and drills. Have knowledge on how to operate a CNC machine. Safe operation of fork trucks and moving materials on and off trucks or work area. Helping all other supervisors or co-workers complete various time sensitive tasks
Job Requirements/Responsibilities
- Assist primary Woodworking Specialist
- Ensure output meet production schedules, safety, and quality standards.
- Experience operating required equipment - hand and power tools such as drills, saws, specialized and heavy equipment in a responsible manner.
- Must have basic knowledge on how to operate a CNC machine
- Be able read shop drawings
- Position and install parts, subassemblies, and accessories using power tools, and other aids.
- Operate fork-lift to relocate skids, raw materials, and finished goods to organize shop and yard.
- Prepare skids for shipment.
- Help with loading and unloading trucks and supplies.
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, product quality, and safety.
- Always ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Assist welders, carpenters, painters, or other tradespeople.
- Communicate with supervisor and other shop personnel for assignments.
- Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
- Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris.
- Follow instructions from supervisor to perform manual labor tasks.
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
- Excellent work ethic and punctual
**Requirements**:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a construction setting or similar.
Must possess knowledge of workplace safety legislation, safe lifting and handling procedures and tool and equipment safety. You must have a high school diploma, or equivalent and a valid driver license. Knowledge of appropriate building materials, construction methods, operating
power tools and equipment for various assembly processes. Excellent work ethic, punctual and reliable, and professional.
Work Conditions:
- Exposure to hazards associated with the industry/trade.
- Use of required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
- High noise levels and repetitive work.
- Ability to work in changing outdoor weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, dust, and humidity.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labour, lifting, moving, or manipulating objects weighing minimum 60lbs.
Wage will reflect experience.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
**Salary**: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
