Mitsui Home Canada Inc. (MHCI) is a turnkey construction framing provider which integrates, building components (wall panels, stairs, and floors), design, materials, logistics and on-site framing. We are a subsidiary of Mitsui Home Co. Ltd, Japan, specializing in Japanese management systems to produce top quality building components to meet the demands of both commercial and residential projects.

We have 2 building components facilities, Mitsui Home Canada in Langley B.C., and Mitsui Home America in Lodi California. Our unique integrated system allows for outstanding quality, quick delivery of the framing package, most effective use of material, and on-site labour. Our strong design processes pre-emptively solve project challenges at an earlier stage and therefore reduce on-site problems. Mitsui Home Canada's prefabrication process uses innovative design technology and automated machines to custom build wood-framed, mid-rise multi-family facilities in British Columbia, Washington, and Oregon.

We are currently hiring a supervisor to oversee production in our growing manufacturing plant in Langley, BC. This is an amazing opportunity for someone who comes with a few years of experience in components manufacturing This role reports to the General Manager, Construction and Production.

**Role**:
The Production Supervisor will lead, coach and mentor our production team. This role will develop strategies and lead activities to facilitate improvement including ensuring safety across all production levels. They will work closely with the management team to collaborate and supervise the continual improvement of processes. They will work towards established standards and generate reports for the management. This role also plays an important role in coordinating workshops and training for the team. They will share technical expertise and ensure availability of the learning resources for the team.

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Lead, coach and mentor the production team.

Provide training and communicate activities during daily/weekly toolbox meetings
- Continually develop skills and knowledge of Mitsui construction processes.
- Manage activities to reduce costs by decreasing inefficiencies and increasing quality controls. Monitor the progress to check if changes produce acceptable results, evaluate daily to maintain a high level of excellence in the Mitsui product.
- Ensure all team members are properly trained, skills updated as needed and properly documented. Ensure compliance with all standard operating procedures and safety.
- Ensure all manufacturing equipment is functioning properly by communicating problems to maintenance staff (Minor equipment repairs during working hours may be required to maintain production).
- Assign housekeeping tasks to maintain production area in a neat and orderly condition.
- Establish and grow a culture where safety is a core value through implementing and ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental procedures always to secure a safe and efficient workplace.
- Promote the spirit of teamwork and positive atmosphere at work.
- Assist with inventory management
- Actively participate in the Mitsui Home Canada's Safety Committee
- Assist with facilities maintenance (both north and south buildings)
- Ensure all Mitsui Home production paperwork is completed and maintained as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 5 years’ framing experience on site or in a production plant environment
- 2+ years’ experience in a leadership capacity
- Knowledge and experience with Lean or Kaizen process an asset
- An understanding of products and process knowledge.
- Excellent communications skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to encourage employee performance and well-being.
- Problem solver and trouble shooting skills.
- Positive and supportive attitude
- Punctuality and commitment to a schedule.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office software
- First Aid knowledge & claim process an asset

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
