Our work typically involves varying levels of interaction with regulatory agencies, conservation authorities, provincial ministries, civic leaders, community residents, institutions, developers, landowners, businesses and private consultants. At IPS, we realize every project is unique and requires integrity, innovative design, and attention to detail. IPS has vast experience dealing with various planning challenges ranging from the simplistic to extremely complex. Such challenges may include urban and rural development, residential, commercial, industrial developments, agriculture, environmental planning, natural resources, economic development, community improvement, heritage, health and safety, and healthy living. IPS offers full services to all private sectors for assistance with official plan amendments, zoning by-law amendments, site plans, subdivision agreements, master plans, community improvement plans, budget creation and review, development review, public consultation, conflict resolution, urban design, drafting and more. **Required Skills**:

- Preparing proposals to outline the scope of services, work plans, schedules, and budgets to meet the needs of potential clients and their specific project requirements
- Researching and staying relevant on planning policy (Provincial, Regional/County, Municipal)
- Contributing to long-range planning studies and land use plans such as landowner groups, community plans, precinct plans, and secondary plans
- Project Management including interacting with clients, other team member, consultants, and municipal staff/agencies through the Planning Act and approvals process
- Making presentations to Councils, Committees, Ontario Land Tribunal and Community Groups
- Providing critical recommendations and advice on land use feasibility and property acquisition projects
- Providing leadership and contributing to mentorship of Senior, Intermediate, and other staff members with positive reinforcement and coaching
- Management meetings to review project status and business development opportunities/strategic long-term goals
- Prepare for and provide expert testimony at Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) Hearing
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning or related discipline, from an accredited university.
- Full membership in OPPI / CIP
- A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant work experience with knowledge of the Planning process and the legislative and policy framework in Ontario
- Excellent analytical, communication, organizational and time management skills with attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects both as part of a team or independently towards the preparation of project deliverables
- Expert knowledge of the Planning Act, Provincial Plans and Official Plans
- Recognized as, and experience providing, expert witness testimony before the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT)
- Ability to maintain positive networks by developing and securing relationships with agencies, governments, media, and other professionals, including the public
- Valid G driver’s license
