**Location**: We are seeking an experienced **Assistant Manager, Beverage, Food & Beverage Service Operations **for our **Vancouver Convention Centre **operation.

**Principal Function**:
The Assistant Manager, Beverage directly supports the F&B Manager, Beverage for the planning, preparation, set-up, service, break-down and cleanup of bars and other group events with beverages. This position provides supervision, leadership and direction to Beverage supervisors and bartenders in both front and back of house. They are responsible for ensuring that events are executed smoothly and in accordance with guest specifications, to include linens, décor, set up, menu and all aspects of beverage service.

**Essential Responsibilities**:

- Maximize Sodexo Live’s revenue and operational excellence through implementation and oversight of systems and policies related to banquet and beverage events.
- Contribute to the efficient operation of business unit by partnering with Director of Food & Beverage, Catering and Culinary departments; monitors and ensures all aspects of operations are completed in an efficient and effective manner by employees.
- Provide leadership and direction to beverage employees to deliver a customer service in accordance with Sodexo Live standards and policies.
- Maximize customer satisfaction by coordinating events in accordance with Sodexo Live standards, guest expectations and specifications as per Banquet Work Orders and catering contracts.
- Monitor and control productivity and payroll on a daily basis to ensure budgets and goals are consistently achieved.
- Ensure compliance in responsible alcohol service, Worksafe BC and all applicable health and safety regulations at all events.
- Provide consistent floor supervision of all Banquets and other food and beverage events. Ensure efficient operation of banquet functions by coordinating and providing assignments and communicating directions for beverage staff.
- Maintain effective communication with clients as well as Event Services and Catering Sales Managers before, during and after every function to ensure expectations are consistently exceeded.
- Train Supervisors and Bartenders on assigned responsibilities for set-up and service of functions based on instructions set forth in the Banquet Work Order.
- Ensure that all Staff is in proper uniform and meet Sodexo Live grooming policies.
- Confer with Director of Food & Beverage/Catering Director regarding problem areas; Make recommendations for increasing efficiency and for changing procedure.
- Positively influence team collaboration within Service Operations, between other departments and the Facility at all times.
- Assist F&B Beverage Manager on recruitment, training, motivation and development of a professional team of Service employees dedicated to providing a superior guest experience.
- Contribute to goal of making Sodexo Live #1 in Event Hospitality and the #1 Employer of Choice through personal commitment and leading by example.

**Qualifications/Skills**:

- Minimum of 3 years of previous Food and Beverage Supervisory/Management experience preferably in a large-scale hotel or high-quality convention centre.
- Exceptional computer skills and familiarity with property management systems such as a Banquet Work Order Software.
- Technology aptitude for working with POS and digital systems.
- Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management; Ability to promote and participate in team environment concepts.
- Must have unwavering and exceptional service delivery standards.
- Self-starter who can work independently and on several tasks/projects simultaneously, and who can contribute to functional areas of the business outside of the finance area.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Initiative in identifying and resolving problems timely and effectively.
- Serving It Right and Food Safe Certification.

**Other Requirements**:
Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
