What you'll be doing

As the Product Owner, you will be responsible for the maintenance and strategic development of products related to client onboarding for CIBC Investor's Edge:
- Development of the product roadmap and associate backlog items- Clearly expressing Product Backlog items.- Prioritizing the items in the Product Backlog to best achieve goals and missions.- Optimizing the value of the work the Development Team performs.- Ensuring that the Product Backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all, and shows what the team will work on next.- Ensuring the Development Team understands items in the Product Backlog to the level needed- Soliciting stakeholder feedback and ensuring the integration of that feedback into the roadmap and prioritization process

The Product Owner also functions as the primary competitive analyst for the Product group:
- Ensuring detailed competitive platform and product reviews are conducted on an ongoing basis- Maintaining library of competitive research on platforms and products being offered by Canadian and international online brokerages- Producing or assisting in the production of competitive decks and slides for senior management and members of the Product team

How you'll succeed- Strategy and Competitive Analysis - In conjunction with the Product, Marketing and Strategy teams, understand the strategic evolution for the Digital Client Onboarding platform and what technologies and partners will be needed to achieve this. Have a strong foundation in the online brokerage industry and the best practices for desktop and mobile websites and account opening processes. Conduct periodic reviews of competitors and the evolution of their online platforms as well as which vendors they have chosen to partner with, for account opening, trading and account maintenance. Determine suitable product enhancements to include in the Digital Client Onboarding platform. Assist in the development of product strategies to target defined client and prospect segment(s) and the build out of the product roadmap in support of same.- Business Effectiveness - Through effective analysis of existing processes and procedures, determine and recommend implementation of opportunities for cost savings for the business through reduction in manual account opening processes and implementation of automated solutions. Proactively determine client pain points in the account opening and onboarding life cycle and recommend improvements to the client experience- Product management - Strong knowledge and experience in product management, strategic planning, and project management sufficient to identify, develop, and implement approved initiatives (experience preferably in financial services).- Analytical - Understand and interpret complex information, identify patterns and trends in new or strategic areas, and develop recommendations, often with mínimal direction in order to respond to urgent business priorities.- Leadership - Well-developed management and leadership skills sufficient to achieve results within a matrix organization, including the ability to bring about change at a senior level.- Relationship management - Meet business objectives by managing relationships and working effectively with internal and external partners including Marketing and other lines of business, partners and vendors. Act as Client Onboarding product owner and primary point of contact for DI&A with regard to the product
