**Position Information**:
The Ottawa Hospital has an exciting temporary opportunity for the role of Business Leader. This position provides senior level support in managing and coordinating initiatives of the office of the Executive Director Education, Professional Practice and Workforce Sustainability.

This position is temporary until approximately March 31, 2024.

**What you will do**:
The Business Leader contributes to the development of an enterprise-wide workforce planning strategy that outlines the overall methodology and factors that will shape our workforce planning solutions, including technology rebuild and process design.

In addition to working on a number of workforce planning projects, the Business Leader will also support on a number of HR-related initiatives, supporting senior team leaders with projects related to talent attraction and management, learning and development and supports on the delivery of people-strategy deliverables.

**What you will bring**:

- Undergraduate Degree in Business or Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum five (5) years of related experience, preferably in the healthcare sector.
- Experience related to quality improvement/project and change management processes.
- High level of expertise and demonstrated ability to write and present successful reports, briefing notes and other proposal.
- Highly self-directed, achievement oriented and able to work well and deliver excellent results under pressure/ambiguity.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and personal development with demonstrated willingness/ability to independent learn/master new information, systems, software, analytical techniques etc.
- Demonstrated experience and advanced capacity in interpreting/manipulating financial, human resources and statistical data and presenting as useful information.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deliver results on short timelines.
- Ability to implement, facilitate, and drive performance and change.
- Excellent communication skills, including a professional demeanor and approach, tact, and discretion.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated experience/success in facilitating meetings/team activities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain strict confidentiality when appropriate.
- Expert user of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams.
- Clear ability to establish strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including the executive leadership team.

**You will stand out with**:

- A Master's Degree in relevant discipline.
- Three (3) to (5) years of experience working in a Human Resources setting.
- Experience interacting with multiple stakeholders in a complex, unionized environment.
- Experience providing advice and strategic HR consulting services to senior-level management on a broad spectrum of services such as but not limited to workforce planning, system enhancements, reporting and analytics.
- Familiarity with the health care sector, health system and hospital issues.
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and evaluating business plans.
- Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
