Facility Attendant/porter

Objectives
- To strive to ensure a safe workplace, professional looking meeting space, guestrooms, public space and groomed exterior and grounds.
- To meet or exceed the expectations of Choice Hotels in their maintenance and cleanliness requirements and general upkeep of the hotel in all public areas.
- Be an Ambassador for the Brand. Welcome all guests, suppliers and contractors to the hotel.

**Responsibilities**:

- To ensure all public areas are clean and well maintained, including restrooms.
- To maintain the general upkeep of exterior grounds (lawn maintenance, snow clearing and salting).
- Responsible for the setup and breakdown of meeting rooms and audio visual equipment.
- To expedite maintenance calls from guest rooms.
- Regular security walk through and check doors/storage rooms etc at beginning and ending of shifts.
- Provide security during busy nights and weekends.
- Assist housekeeping with pick up of laundry, garbage and recycling on each floor as needed.
- Take the lead on projects assigned by the Supervisor, Assistant Hotel Manager and/or owners and report back when projects are complete.
- In the absence of the Supervisor, deal with general contractors to ensure their work orders are being completed.
- Order supplies if/when needed, trying to get the best negotiated price.
- Transport guest bags from tour bus to rooms and return during peak summer season.
- Other duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirements and Expectations
- Grade 12 diploma.
- Able to communicate effectively.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Can multitask.
- Can lift over 5lbs.
- Have a great eye for detail and anticipatory service.
- Be able to successfully work with limited supervision, weekends, and nights

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $16.00-$17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week
