The Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) Department of Surgical Services is seeking a fellowship trained surgical retina specialist to join the Division of Ophthalmology in Nanaimo to provide services to the community and subspecialist services to the region.

Eligible applicants must:

- hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Ophthalmology;
- have a minimum 1 year of vitreoretinal surgery post graduate fellowship training completed by July 2024 in a recognized fellowship program;
- and, be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C.

The Nanaimo medical community totals over 200 physicians with strong primary care physicians and a full array of skilled specialist colleagues who serve a population of 160,000 and secondary referral services to a population of 350,000.
