**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for meeting all applicable food regulations (international, national, state, and local)
- Responsible for complying with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards (i. e., BRC)
- Responsible for sampling, testing, and documentation of the Quality Management System (QMS) including procedures, records, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
- Responsible for creating and maintaining the document control management (ETQ)
- Ensure all records are maintained and accurate
- Assist and support in the preparation of endorsement, first production runs, and R&D trials of new finished products
- Assist and support in the preparation and execution of third-party audits of all kinds
- Investigate root causes of customer and consumer complaints
- Works to maintain the safety, legality, and quality of each food and the processes used in their manufacture.
- Complete and maintain shelf-life verification and validation on new finished products
- Complete shelf-life studies on finished products
- Responsible for meeting all customer specifications and managing customer portals
- Conduct training for new team members on all sensory programs
- Create visual aid guides for all FG products as Quality references for production team members.
- Ensures appropriate product FG holds and dispositions
- Identify all unacceptable products and take immediate action to resolve all deviations
- Implement and monitor Key Performance Indicators for customer-branded products.
- Authorized to hold finished food based on food safety or quality non-conformance
- Promote awareness on issues relating to good personal hygiene and GMP requirements throughout the plant facilities
- Assist in maintaining quality standards (QAP) of all finished products as per Customer requirements
- Review, evaluate, and analysis of verification activities trending to highlight opportunities for improvement.
- Undertake any special assignment or project as part of continuous improvement
- Participate in external audits and assist in creating and implementing corrective actions
- Ensures follow-through and completion of non-compliance and deviation investigations conducted by QA Technicians
- Effective communication of program requirements to relevant personnel and departments to ensure implementation of CFIA/FDA, HACCP, and BRC requirements
- Ensure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities specific to food safety, legality, and quality
- Lead and support Operational Excellence for FSQA pillar
- Adhere to food safety practices and ensure they are being followed
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in Microbiology or Chemistry or equivalent by having completed a recognized food processing continuing education program is required.
- Bachelor of Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Human Ecology preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of related work experience in food manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of GMP and HACCP programs and procedures
- Knowledge of Food Sensory Testing, Evaluation, and Analysis
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Solid quality orientation with experience and understanding of Food Safety and Quality Principles
- Solid computer skills along with excellent data analysis (Minitab), problem-solving, attention to detail, time management, organizational and prioritization skills required
- Ability to get things done with mínimal supervision and the willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, when required.
