We are currently looking for a full-time Guide dresser/Filer to join our Freeman Lumber Team. This role reports directly to the Sawmill Superintendent and will be responsible to safely perform quality work, including:

- Maintain Babbit guides
- Sharpen, maintain and repair both band saws and rounds saws
- Maintain filing equipment
- Sharpen chipper knives
- Preform machine center checks and basic adjustments
- Transport saws
- Change saws at machine centers
- Work with production team to ensure highest possible quality
- Other duties as assigned

- Ensure compliance of safe work practices and health and safety policies and procedures
- Must be a team player
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Work with mínimal supervision
- Self-motivated
- Ability to multi-task while working under pressure
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be physically capable of bending, reaching, lifting and standing for long periods of time
- Experience working with CNC equipment an asset
- Willingness to learn new tasks and take on new challenges
- Experience working in a filing room an asset
- Experience working in a sawmill also an asset

**Qualifications**
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Able to speak, read and write fluently in English

**Shift Rotation**:
This position is primarily a daytime Monday to Friday position, however our production requirement might require evening shifts from time to time.

**Total Compensation Package includes**:

- Competitive wages. $24.20 -$30.00/hr. - commensurate with experience
