Golf Course Maintenance

Quarry Lion Golf in Bowmanville is looking for outgoing and hard working team members to join our Turf team this fall Currently, we are hire for weekday morning shifts, plus every third weekend. This can be full or part time, but must be able to start ASAP and finish out the season mid November.

**Duties**:

- Assist with course improvements, such as raking tee decks, digging irrigation, rock picking, debris cleanup, trenching, line trimming, leaf blowing and other physically demanding tasks
- Cutting and maintaining various areas of the golf course. This may include the greens, tees, fairways, rough areas, sand bunkers, driving range and practice areas.
- Daily course set up, including hole changing, divot repair, possible hand watering and moving tee blocks
- Maintain equipment appropriately, including checking oil, fuelling and cleaning the machines daily
- General maintenance of all areas of the course, such as line trimming and edging, clearing on course garbage and recycling, gardening as needed.
- Assist with “special projects” and general property improvements

Qualifications:
Operate all equipment following safety procedures with pre and post inspections as directed from superintendent. Including wearing all appropriate PPE. Reporting any issues to the supervisor.

Operate various types of turf equipment, including riding lawn mowers, tractors and gators. As well as hand tools such as leaf blower, line trimmer, drill, etc.

Be able to complete physically demanding tasks such as raking, shovelling, gardening etc.

Be comfortable working outdoors in various conditions (including heat and rain). Able to independently lift /carry 50 lbs.

Able to work early mornings, weekends and holiday shifts. This position specifically is not for student schedules. We do have a position for that, but may be filled, please check our other listings.

Must be able to follow directions, learn quickly, have good attention to detail, be reliable and organized.

Lastly, you must be friendly. Golf is a friendly game, and so is our team

Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: From $16.00 per hour
