**Job Title: Senior Parts Technician** - Calgary Alberta

We are looking for a Senior Parts Technician to join our team in Calgary.

Westvac specializes in three divisions and carries an extensive product line, including Heavy and Light Duty Vehicle Lifts, Hydro Excavators, Street Sweepers, Garbage Trucks, Fire Apparatus, Municipal Tractors, and a variety of other industrial equipment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Front counter /customer service.
- Establish and sustain customer relationships by ethically and professionally representing Westvac Industrial Ltd.
- Maintain customer profiles and contact information.
- Process internal /back counter workorders and issue or distribute parts, accessories, and supplies for internal usage.
- Advise retail customers or internal users on appropriateness of parts, supplies or materials requested.
- Prepare and ship external and internal orders (received from other branches).
- Receive and sort incoming parts, accessories and supplies, and participate in inventory counts, at least annually.
- Effectively source the best quality items available for the most reasonable cost.
- Order and store items in an organized and accessible manner.
- Process workorders and maintain quantities, varieties, and locations of parts, accessories, and available supplies through our operating system: Intellidealer /CDK.

**Requirements & Skills**:

- A journeyman /woman certification as a parts technician.
- Computer literacy and knowledge of office software programs.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong record-keeping skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Mechanical knowledge or previous industrial equipment, or related parts experience.
- Previous experience or certification in forklift operation.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

**Related Physical & Safety Requirements**:

- Ability to sit for extended periods to complete paperwork, enter data, and communicate with customers.
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods during warehouse or inventory management tasks.
- Capable of lifting and transporting heavy objects, including boxes of parts and equipment, while adhering to proper lifting techniques and safety protocols. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. independently.
- Proficient handling of small parts and components, demonstrating precise hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for tasks such as sorting, counting, and packaging.
- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks such as data entry, and picking /packing parts with consistency and accuracy.
- Agility to navigate storage areas, shelves, and aisles efficiently to locate and retrieve parts, ensuring optimal workflow and organization.
- Strong vision including the ability to read part numbers, labels, and inventory codes accurately, distinguishing colors and small details for inventory management and quality control purposes.
- Effective verbal communication abilities to interact with colleagues, suppliers, and customers, facilitating seamless coordination and cooperation within the parts department.
- Commitment to adhering to safety guidelines and procedures, particularly when operating machinery such as forklifts or handling heavy equipment, ensuring a secure work environment for all staff members.

**Workstation, Work Environment**:
You will be provided with a workstation that is your own and not shared with others, in a conventional office environment.

As a part of this role, it will be necessary to consult with Service personnel in the adjacent shop, and yard. Personnel Protective Equipment /PPE is required in those areas.

**Location & Travel Requirements**:
You will be expected to work onsite during our regular operational hours. At present, there is no anticipated travel associated with this position, and is not expected to occur. In the event that travel becomes necessary in the future, a mutual agreement between both parties will be required before any travel would be assigned.

**Employment Type & Compensation**:
Westvac operates and is open standard Monday-Friday business hours. The position is fulltime and the requirement is to work between the hours of 8:00 - 4:30 (with 30 minutes for lunch, unpaid).

Class 5 driver’s license and a recent drivers abstract are required. Reimbursement is available for costs associated with acquiring drivers abstracts.

A CSA Approved work boot allowance is also available.
