**Job Title**: FTTH, Structured Cabling and FTTH Civil Installation Technician

**Location: Alberta, Canada**

National Technical Field Services are looking for a skilled and experienced FTTH Civil Technician with Directional Drilling experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining fiber optic cables in residential areas, using directional drilling techniques to ensure mínimal disruption to the surrounding environment. Your primary duties will include operating and maintaining drilling equipment, laying underground conduit, trenching and excavating, and performing splicing and terminating fiber optic cables.

**Responsibilities**:

- FTTH Install, maintain, and repair, structure cabling, 5G wireless, Low Orbit satellite systems, VSAT for residential and commercial clients
- Install fiber optic cables and connections from the main distribution point to the home or building
- Terminate fiber optic cables using splicing or field terminations
- Install and troubleshoot wireless access connections
- Coordinate with the network operations center to ensure smooth installation and ongoing maintenance
- Use a variety of tools and equipment, including fiber optic splicers, OTDRs, power meters, VSAT Meters and cable testers
- Follow safety procedures and protocols when working with fiber optic and electrical equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Ability to travel to remote regions throughout Canada including the Arctic for extended periods of time

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification in Fiber Optics preferred
- 2+ years of experience in directional drilling and fiber optic installation
- Knowledge of fiber fusion and field terminations
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for FTTH installation
- Ability to operate and maintain directional drilling equipment
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driver abstract
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to travel 50-80% of the time
- Clean criminal abstract
