Machine Learning Operations Manager

Calgary, Canada Routeique Inc. Full time

**MACHINE LEARNING OPERATIONS MANAGER**

**ROUTEIQUE**

**Company culture is at our core**

Routeique is not a software company. Our business involves unraveling complexity, ironing out wrinkles, and finding better ways—which means our commitment is always considerably deeper than pixels on a screen, and far wider than just the supply chain.

We are a close-knit team of innovators with nerd-like enthusiasm, and veteran-like experience. We are supply chain experts armed with the mother of all digital platforms. And we are hell bent on ensuring every link, in every chain, is flawlessly efficient and seamless.

Indeed it’s our velvet integration of high touch and high tech—and our insistence on being partners, not vendors—that allow us to bring so much value to the table.

We strive to work passionately, improve daily, speak truthfully, invest wisely, watch carefully, iterate/innovate relentlessly and grow frequently. These are our values, they keep us accountable and drive us to our success. Success is not only growing the business but growing people.

**What’s cool about Routeique?**

At Routeique we know a supply chain can never be completely owned. The variables of logistics, warehousing, shipping and fulfillment are infinite, and not easily wrangled or second guessed—especially in a world wracked with the uncertainty of alarmingly frequent environmental, political and medical crises. That’s why, every day, we provide our clients with the next best things: insight, foresight, and oversight.

We give clients penetrating x-ray vision that tracks and traces every step of their networks, virtually, in real time—empowering them to stay ahead of problems, leapfrog legacy logjams, and capitalize on previously unseen opportunities... with crystal-clear transparency.

**What you'll be doing**:
You'll use your applied industry experience to drive and lead the design and deployment of automated CI/CD pipelines, as well as the management of DevOps workflow. You'll bridge the gap between business opportunities and applied ML methods to provide direction and oversight on technical projects. You'll advise the development and product team as to the state of the system such as availability and access; this includes collaborating on architectural decisions, making informed decisions about what the data requirements are, what modeling techniques should be tested, how solutions should be deployed and monitored, and how success will be evaluated. As part of the development team, you will work to comprehend these complex problems through your skills.
- You'll be accountable for the design, development, and maintenance of scalable production machine learning pipelines and MLOps tools
- You'll utilize Big Data and Cloud based technologies to implement and scale machine learning models
- You'll interface with product managers, data engineers, data scientists, and software developers to gather requirements
- You'll support a platform providing ad-hoc and automated access to large datasets, models, and predictions
- You'll work with internal data science community and external technology partners to integrate analytics solutions in a seamless and sustainable fashion

**Who we're looking for**:

- You have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in full-stack software development based on advanced analytical methods including machine learning, AI and cloud-based platforms
- You have hands-on-experience in building Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Continuous Deployment pipelines and managing DevOps tools and workflow
- You're able to communicate on technical topics with a non-technical audience
- You have a general comprehension of the strengths and weaknesses of a range of ML techniques across supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning
- You're up-to-date knowledge and strong engineering and analytical skills

**You might also have**:

- Successful completion of post secondary education in Computer Science or related field with equivalent experience in Data Science
- Post-secondary Degree/Diploma specialization in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
- 3-5 years software development experience, primarily in back-end development
- 3-5 years experience in data science tools, ML libraries, and computing frameworks
- Be competent with Linux, and good understanding of common Python data libraries (e.g. pandas, numpy, scipy, plotly, scikit-learn)
- Experience with React
- Some experience in Laravel, Symfony or other PHP frameworks
- Experience in serverless implementation
- Proficient SQL skills and some familiarity with No-SQL databases
- Experience in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing, and optimization algorithms
