Our Global Corporate and Specialty (GCS) is a general insurance (GI) business that provides insurance solutions for large corporate and specialty products for commercial entities. Its core product lines are Property, Casualty, Auto, Surety, and Equipment Breakdown (EBI). We have opportunities for Commercial Underwriters at junior to senior levels, ideally with experience in programs at the Macro (program) and Micro (individual) level with provided authority.

We are currently seeking top talent to join our Programs and Portfolio Management team. We are looking for a high performing Jr. Commercial Lines Automobile Underwriter to drive profitable growth through quality underwriting. If you are looking to develop and grow, to build niche underwriting knowledge this may be the change you are seeking.

What You'll Do:
- Qualify and underwrite Programs and accounts through understanding needs and risk characteristics of the customer, ensuring benefit from both top-line and profitability perspective.- Develop and maintain relationships cross-functionally and with external stakeholders, to deliver exceptional broker and customer service.- Maintain the quality and profitability of the portfolio and refer all risks outside established authority level to Specialist.-
- Build knowledge of all Information Systems/Programs within Commercial Insurance.- Participate in branch Quality Reviews and broker audits as required.- Support maintenance of a compliant UW environment in relation to guidelines and rules.- Build and maintain proven business relationships with our Broker partners by promoting Aviva products, and emphasis on service levels.- You will work toward finding opportunities for growth, including new business and renewal updates.

What You'll Bring:
- Post-secondary education (business or related disciplines)- 1 to 2 years in the insurance industry ideally as a commercial lines automobile underwriter.- CIP/FCIP preferred- Strong knowledge of underwriting, pricing and product in various segments- Working knowledge of other functional areas (i.e. Claims, Risk Management, Accounting, etc.).- Strong level of understanding of underwriting philosophy, policy contracts, rating programs, risk information sources, underwriting/technical manual information, statuary constraints, and computer workflow procedures.- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, RTM, Commercial systems and other related systems.- Ability to interact in a professional manner to develop long-term relationships with brokers and customers.- Ability to work with internal business partners to deliver a great broker and customer experience.- Ability to be self-motivated and proactively pursue potential business opportunities with brokers and customers.- Ability to listen to broker and customer needs in order to effectively and efficiently meet them.
