Fuser (Utilities)

**ABOUT US**

**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**

Reporting to the appropriate site supervisor, the Fuser Apprentice & Journeyman will be responsible for providing full cycle, in depth knowledge and support for the profession of Fuser to ensure Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. achieves their general and specific project requirements.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Previous Fuser / Pipefitter / Plumbing experience highly desirable.
- Working experience in construction, or the utility distribution industry highly desirable, but not required.
- Requires technical thinking, and the ability to read standards and schematics.
- Some of the physical demands are:

- Must be dependable, and willing and able to perform physically demanding work in the elements. Some of the physical demands are:

- Ability to drive on a stop and start basis daily and continually.
- Lifting, placing of materials, standing, walking, turning, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, crouching, speaking and hearing are required continuously.
- Fit, assemble, thread, fuse and install various types, sizes, and schedules of metal, steel and polyethylene pipe and pipefittings as necessary to complete installation.
- Join piping by means of threaded, fusion, coupling or other means. Secure pipes to structure with clamps, brackets and hangers.

- The ability to read and understand complex instructions and drawings
- The ability to do careful and precise work
- May be required to lift items weighing over 100lbs
- Close vision is required for some functions and distance and peripheral vision is required for safety.
- Must have a strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on an industrial job site

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.00-$39.00 per hour

Pay: $29.03-$35.97 per hour

- 10 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Delta, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Fusing: 1 year (preferred)
- Utilities: 1 year (preferred)
