Estimator - Low Voltage Systems

Overview:
**Responsibilities**:

- Analyze project documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for low voltage systems.
- Respond to RFPs and RFQs with detailed proposals that align with client specifications and budget constraints.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotes and ensure comprehensive estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to assess potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Maintain a database of historical data for use in future estimates and project planning.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in low voltage systems.

**Requirements**:

- Over 5 years of recent experience in the field, with a leadership role in overseeing and training teams.
- Expertise in copper and fiber installation, termination (including splicing), and testing.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes (TIA/EIA, BISCI) and Fluke or other Level 3 testing equipment, preferably Fluke Versiv.
- Comprehensive knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, and Audio Visual (AV) systems, including system design, installation standards, and integration techniques.
- Proficient in labelling standards and enhancing the aesthetics and functionality of Datacenter, MDF, and IDF environments.
- Passionate about continuous improvement, adopting new processes as the company grows, and engaging teams in these processes.
- Solution-oriented with the ability to propose and implement solutions autonomously, given the latitude and budget.
- Results-focused with the ability to manage projects effectively, delegate responsibilities, and ensure accountability within the team.
- Coachable with a strong foundation in management principles, transitioning from a senior technical role to a leadership position.
- Proven experience as an estimator or similar role with a focus on low voltage systems such as Networking, Audio Video, Security, Access Control, and Surveillance.
- Strong understanding of RFP and RFQ processes, with a track record of creating successful responses.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in estimation software and MS Office Suite.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple estimates simultaneously.

**Job Types**: Fixed term contract, Casual, Freelance
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 20 per week
