Manufacturing Shift Leader

Collingwood, Canada Pilkington Glass of Canada Ltd Full time

Employees Supervised: Indirectly approx. 30 - 45 hourly employees

Primary Duties:
1. Will ensure shift is properly manned by qualified employees

3. Audits and enforces safety regulations and procedures such as personal protective equipment, guards, housekeeping and fire hazards.

4. Audits and enforces the general rules and regulations of the facility

5. Maintain current knowledge of Environmental issues to achieve company performance goals as established by Environmental standards

6. Assists production employees when necessary to contact Salaried team members in resolution of production / safety / quality problems.

7. Maintain knowledge of all Health & Safety issues. Achieve company performance goals as established by Health & Safety.

8. Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity relating to product, process and quality system. Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system. Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels. Verify the implementation of solutions. Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

9. Ensure production flow of processes by reducing/eliminating bottlenecks on a shift by shift basis.

10. Keep Line Managers/Team Leaders informed of any process product interruptions.

11. Ensure payroll is updated to reflect employees actual hours and status on any promotional schedule.

Qualifications Required:

- Mental skill required to plan and direct the operation of a large complex production unit.
- Must be self motivated and have previous supervisory training and experience

Qualifications Desired:

- Community College Diploma in a related field

**Salary**: From $72,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
