Trenergy is a 100 percent locally owned fabrication plant in St. Catharines specializing in the manufacture of boilers, pressure vessels, rail tank cars and more. We are looking for an eager, hands on, innovative team player with some manufacturing experience to join our Estimating team. This is an opportunity for one to become a respected, key member of the Estimating and Sales team, your contributions will lead to the continued success and growth of the company. Principal responsibilities of the Estimator include but are not limited to:

- Liaison with customers and vendors to establish and maintain strong working relationships. Communicating with customers on technical questions for specific projects.
- Develop customer proposals incorporating any feedback from Production Control, QA/QC or Welding Manager
- Review incoming request for quotations with sales and manufacturing to ensure Trenergy’s ability to produce the requested product.
- Review customer specifications and identify the customer’s material requirements.
- Follow-up with Customers regarding proposals for potential sale on a scheduled basis
- Work with purchasing to obtain price and delivery of required material needs.
- Work with industrial engineering to establish required number of hours to complete the requested project.
- Complete take-offs of all materials and labour required to complete the project as per contract specifications and drawings
- Develop and maintain estimating programs and standards.
- Distribute customer specifications to all Trenergy departments
- Review returned comments and exceptions to customer specifications
- Communicate with customers on technical questions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology or equivalent Degree/Diploma
- Five (5) years of experience in a steel fabricating environment
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Office, especially Excel with familiarity with Access
- Experience with reading drawings and interpreting specifications
- Familiarity with a variety of steel and steel alloy products
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as welding in its many forms, NDE and various forms of shaping and machining metal
- Communication and people skills
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Reliability and excellent work ethic
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Flexible and adaptable to ever-changing priorities
