Banquet Server

**_We currently seek highly motivated full-time and part-time Banquet Servers to join our dynamic team._**

The Banquet Server is responsible for executing events, such as company holiday functions, large and small corporate events, weddings, trade shows, dinners, lunches, meetings and conferences, in accordance with the Banquet Event Order. Must be able to accommodate changes in a professional and positive manner.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide a consistently exceptional experience for all guests
- Offer guests knowledgeable, personalized service
- Ensure excellence by maintaining a positive and committed “Do Whatever It Takes” attitude
- Participate in staff education plans, including on‑the‑job training
- Maintain acceptable attendance record
- Meet Health & Safety requirements
- Be a personal representation of the service and overall hospitality of the staff of the property
- Exceed the expectations of internal and external customers
- Set up and tear down a wide variety of events such as company holiday functions, large and small corporate events, weddings, trade shows, dinners, lunches, meetings and conferences.
- Execute the Banquet Event Order (BEO) according to the specifications for the event. At times move, unstack and set up chairs and tables, place covers on chairs or move and lift equipment such as a rack of dishes, chaffing dishes, stage pieces, risers and table carts.
- Set up meeting rooms, replenish refreshments, remove food and re-stock the inventory as required
- Serve meals as required, following fine-dining and Relais & Chateaux standards
- Maintain the appearance of event rooms, including table linens, napkins, silverware, table setup, centerpieces, menus and perform closing duties
- Perform other duties as required

**Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required**
- Minimum 1 year in food & beverage role
- Smart Serve certified, _required_
- Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of guests, peers, supervisors, and other outside contacts
- Ability to read, write, communicate and comprehend verbal and written instructions in English
- Ability to be accurate, concise, detail oriented and make independent decisions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Effective time management skills to organize and prioritize workload

**Work Conditions and Physical Requirements**
- Able to lift 50+ lbs as required.
- Able to stand, walk, carry, reach and lift for extended periods.
- Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Must have own transportation and be eligible to legally work in Canada.
