**The Opportunity**

The Activities Manager coordinates the wellness activities for each group of residents in a collaborative process with the Assisted Living Manager, Chaplains, and Activity Assistants to ensure activities are developed to meet individual needs, promote community, and optimize the holistic wellness of all residents.

**About The Role**

As the Activities Manager, you will develop and oversee activity programs for our Assisted Living and Independent Living residents, supporting Baptist Housing's model of wellness. You will set annual goals, create monthly activity calendars, and drive the Baptist Housing bus for external activities. You will assist new residents in transitioning smoothly into the community and regularly assess and adjust activity plans based on observations and feedback. You will build relationships within the community, oversee scheduling and job distribution, and lead and assist the members of the Activity Department Team. You will organize volunteer recruitment, participate in hiring, and evaluate employee performance. Additionally, you will oversee the department budget and ensure communication with outside organizations. By promoting a culture of health and safety, you will ensure safe working practices and provide emergency first aid to residents when needed.

**Requirements**:

- Completion of a recognized degree or diploma program in Recreational Therapy or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Completion of Class 4 driver training and maintenance of a valid Class 4 license
- Current certification in emergency first aid—community care
- At least two years of recent experience coordinating activity programs for seniors

You have demonstrated expertise in supervising and managing team member performance, recruiting and coordinating volunteers, and leading and teaching groups. Your conflict resolution skills ensure that relationships are preserved in alignment with our values. As a critical thinker with strong organizational skills, you manage time and priorities efficiently while adapting to changes. Your commitment to health and safety, proficiency with relevant software, and ability to drive the bus for resident activities ensure you provide top-tier service and care.

**Compensation & Benefits**

Your total compensation includes an hourly wage of $29.83, employer-paid benefits, four weeks' vacation, RRSP matching and support for professional development.
