**About the role**

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a **CAPA Specialist **to join our dynamic Continuous Improvement team in **Brampton**. The work of a CAPA Specialist is integral to Canadian Blood Services role as Canada’s Lifeline.

In this role, you will lead, coach and facilitate the CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) investigations as assigned. The CAPA program at Canadian Blood Services provides solutions to high-risk quality events and management-initiated areas for improvement. You will work with responsible/owning teams to resolve problems, discuss and make necessary recommendations in accordance with established processes. You will be required to work within a broad scope of the organization with the intent to ensure that root cause is identified, and all plans and reports are completed on time. You will also work with cross functional leadership and front-line teams in order to carry out the assigned investigations.

**Responsibilities include**:

- CAPA investigation: serves as lead facilitator and team coach on problem solving.
- Coaching: provides coaching to other personnel who are assigned to participate in investigations.
- Data analysis: collects and analyzes data using appropriate tools to determine root cause.
- Report writing: writes Investigation Reports, generates CAPA Plans and Effectiveness Checks.
- Collaboration: solicits support and team participation from affected departments. Obtains buy-in from affected departments and obtains necessary approvals.
- Results oriented: monitors timelines for on-time completion of CAPA milestones and deliverables.

**Education and Experience**:

- Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably in a life science, engineering or business discipline.
- Formal training in CAPA investigations is considered an asset, Problem Solving, and Continuous Improvement models.
- Certifications considered an asset: CQPA (Certified Quality Process Analyst), Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma.
- Three years of progressive experience in a leadership/facilitation discipline.
- Proven and progressive experience in completing CAPA investigations and/or continuous improvement problem solving.

**Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Must possess strong written and verbal communications skills in English.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, influencing and negotiation.
- Demonstrated proficiency in investigation methods.
- Must be available to travel within the region.
