**The Role**:
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Indian Sweet Maker (Halwai) will support the day-to-day production of Indian sweets such as barfi, bengali sweets, dhoda, kaju katali, rolls, ladoo (besan, motichoor and more), malpua, gulab jamun, milk cake and more.

**Compensation**:$27.00 to $35.00 per hour depending on experience, expertise and skills, specifically using large equipment for bulk batch making and knowing variety of Indian sweet making.

**Responsibilities**:

- Make special bulk sweets like barfi, bengali sweets, dhoda, kaju katali, rolls, ladoo (besan, motichoor and more), malpua, gulab jamun, milk cake and more;
- Monitor food cooking machines and adjust the controls for devices such as boilers, ovens, fryers and cookers, etc.;
- Program kitchen equipment to operate according to company and recipe standards and make changes to cooking temperature and time;
- Report any type of alarms or malfunctions of the equipment and operate the shut-off switch when necessary;
- Load raw ingredients into the cooking machine and measure the amount needed by following company recipes and industry standards;
- Follow written instructions and recipes from the company when putting together ingredients and starting a new batch of products;
- Remove the finished product from the production line and push batches to the next step of the process for packaging;
- Verify that each finished item meets the quality standards of the company by observing the size, shape and texture of the finished product;
- Sanitize all materials and machinery parts at the end of each shift and clean the workspace at the worker station by following company cleanliness standards;
- Adhering to all the Health and safety policies, GMP, food quality standards. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.;
- Meet production targets as per the set standards through optimum utilization of resources and prevent any kind of wastages and downtimes;
- Train and assign the production workers on production processes and facilitate the data for batch sheets;
- Make special sweets as per the festivals, occasions, etc. as recommended;
- Coordinate day-to-day activities with the Production Supervisor/Lead Hand;
- Participate in new recipes development and work with the team to perform all trials;
- Document and record all new recipes in the format that are used at the plant;
- You would be responsible for all equipment usage in the section you are working.

Any other Duties as assigned by the Management, Production Supervisor/Lead Hand.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Knowledge in large batch Indian sweet making;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to interpret recipes;
- Strong multi-tasking kills;
- Responsible for compliance to Health and Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Pay: $27.00-$35.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Indian Sweet Making: 3 years (preferred)
