**Position - Nursing Manager - Permanent Full Time.**

The Nursing Manager is a member of the Glebe Centre Leadership Team and will be responsible for the daily management and operations of the Nursing Department reporting to the Director of Nursing. The Nursing Manager manages the delivery of clinical services within the Nursing Department and ensures compliance with legislative requirements (MOHLTC and CNO), The Nursing Manager will oversee and advocate for quality resident centered care and provide direction to the nursing staff to ensure policies and practices are followed. The Nursing Manager collaborates with all departments to ensure best practices and compliance requirements are met and demonstrates proven leadership and support in nursing practice.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- RN license in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Mandatory 5-10 years demonstrated nursing leadership experience in Long Term Care
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to lead with mínimal supervision and foster a collaborative workplace
- Ability to make tough decisions when required.
- Demonstrated leadership in unionized environment.
- Proven ability to manage and supervise employees.
- Team player and group facilitator
- Proven technical skills
- Fosters thought leadership and creativity on improving best practices for nursing.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Lead and manage development of Nursing Policies and Procedures for resident -centred care.
- Ensure compliance with Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Acts and Regulations
- Provide direction to the nursing team in all aspects of resident care.
- Knowledge of ONA and CUPE Collective Agreements.
- Guide staff in areas of non-compliance, attendance, and policies and practices
- Utilize the progressive disciplinary process adhering to the Collective Agreements and Glebe Centre policies and practices.
- Manage nursing staff education requirements and ensure training is done.
- Solid understanding of scheduling and reviewing scheduling regularly and identify nursing staffing projections
- Follow through on areas/issues identified through the quality program.
- Conduct regular clinical chart audits to ensure compliance with documentation standards, internal policies and procedures, and legislative requirements.
- Conduct regular checks on nursing shifts.
- Ensure nursing work site safety and adherence to organization and departmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in special projects at the direction of the Director of Care and Executive Director.
- Share on call responsibilities with other members of the senior leadership team.
- Other job-related duties as required.

**HOURS OF WORK**:Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. At times, weekend and weekday evenings or nights may be required. Overtime is taken as time-in-lieu and approved in advance by the Nursing Director of Care.

**SALARY LEVEL**: This is a non-union management position and is a full time permanent position.
