The City of Delta’s Parks Outside Operations services Delta’s three communities: Ladner, North Delta, and Tsawwassen. Exciting opportunities and challenges await those with a passion for horticulture and/or arboriculture. We are seeking reliable, self-motivated and flexible team players willing to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends to operate the City’s watering truck.
In this position, you will be responsible for safely operating the watering truck; watering hanging baskets and city trees. You must have the ability to work independently, effectively and efficiently without direct supervision. Your duties will vary and you will be responsible for performing manual and semi-skilled tasks and may include assisting crews in the maintenance of various landscaped and horticultural areas when essential. Good physical condition with the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions is necessary. Customer service is an important aspect of this work and tactful, diplomatic, and professional communication with the public is essential for success in these positions.
