**Job Description: Construction Painter**

**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
Surface Preparation:

- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and repairing any imperfections, such as cracks or holes.
- Protect adjacent areas or surfaces not intended for painting using masking tape, drop cloths, or other protective materials.

Paint and Coating Application:

- Select appropriate paints, coatings, or finishes based on project requirements, surface types, and environmental conditions.
- Mix paints and thinners according to manufacturer's instructions to achieve desired consistency and color.

Color Matching and Blending:

- Match paint colors to specified samples or existing finishes to ensure consistency and uniformity.
- Blend paints or coatings to achieve desired color or texture, as needed for touch-ups or repairs.

Equipment Maintenance:

- Clean and maintain painting tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Ensure proper storage and disposal of paints, solvents, and other hazardous materials in accordance with safety regulations.

Safety and Quality Control:

- Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.
- Inspect finished work for quality, making any necessary touch-ups or corrections.
- Adhere to project specifications, industry standards, and building codes.

Collaboration and Communication:

- Coordinate with other construction team members, including contractors and supervisors, to ensure timely completion of painting tasks.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to address any concerns or provide updates on progress.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent is generally preferred.
- Possessing certifications in painting or related fields, such as a Certificate of Qualification as a Construction Painter, can be advantageous
- Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in the construction industry, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Previous experience as a construction painter or in a similar role is often preferred.
- Experience working in the construction industry and familiarity with construction sites, safety protocols, and materials
- Good knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and materials used in construction projects.
- Understanding of surface preparation methods, including cleaning, sanding, and repair techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret project specifications, blueprints, or drawings related to painting.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision to achieve desired results.
- Strong color perception and the ability to match or blend paint colors.
- Familiarity with safety practices and the ability to follow safety guidelines and regulations.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Casual

**Salary**: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
