This role is located in Redwater, Alberta and not eligible for remote work.

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, the Laboratory Technician in the Central Engineering Department is accountable for sampling, analysis and reporting of process and environmental data, stewardship to the Laboratory Quality System, maintenance of the routine measurement systems and project support.

**What you will do**:

- Process and product quality sample analysis meeting quality control standards
- Conduct non-routine testing with minimum supervision on process streams and associated products
- Checks and maintains laboratory equipment as to cleanliness, safety and adjustment
- Data Management using SAP
- Monitor quality assurance in the lab, recognizing and recording out-of-spec runs
- Routine instrument operation, maintenance and calibration

**What you will bring**:

- Chemical Technology Diploma and or B. Sc. Chemistry
- 2+ years' experience in a laboratory environment
- Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Mechanical aptitude is an asset
- Working knowledge of basic titrimetric, colourimetric and gravimetric analytical principles
- Able to handle multiple priorities at once
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Strong customer focus
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025
