**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Client Access Navigation Specialist, the Clinical Assistant will support clinical programs at KidsAbility’s Kitchener location, but may be required to travel to support other sites as needed. This role will provide support to the Resources Centre, prepare materials, clean and maintain toys and equipment, and support other program and administrative duties. The Clinical Assistant specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

- Provide Boardmaker training to clients, staff, therapists, and families
- Prepare and create materials to support KidsAbility’s programs, including ordering, managing, and organizing resources, toys, equipment, and supplies
- Cleans and sanitizes toys and program materials regularly and inspects toys and equipment, reports any damage or repair
- Completes program material requests from clinicians specific to Community Based Rehabilitation Services (CBRS) and School Based Rehabilitation Services (SBRS) programs
- Produces a variety of resource materials, including storyboards, handouts for families, worksheets, crafts, group activities, and picture symbols (e.g., picture symbols used with: PECS, choice boards, visual schedules, number boards).
- Organizes and maintains a resource library so that information can be found quickly and meets the needs of clients with a variety of demographics
- Catalogues, tracks, and maintains toys/equipment for the CBRS and SBRS programs, including cleaning therapy materials and updating and organizing assessment kits
- Share information and ideas to enhance team functioning and participate in achieving outcomes identified by the team
- Practice in a manner consistent with KidsAbility’s mission, values, and strategic plan

**More About You**:
To qualify, applicants must have completed a post secondary degree or diploma in an area related to health and/or disability, in addition to:

- Experience in working with children with special needs is an asset
- Ability to learn specialized computer programs, like Boardmaker or Writing with Symbols, used in production of resource materials
- Ability to learn to use a digital camera, photocopier, and laminator
- Effective oral and written communication skills with high level of attention to detail
- Proven ability and willingness to work as an integral member of a team, as well as work independently with little direction, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines and have excellent follow-up in a fast paced and physically demanding environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to actively listen, collaborate, and problem-solve
- Demonstrates creativity, dependability and the ability to support Family-Centered Care
- Time management and organizational skills to produce quality materials in a timely manner
- Good customer service skills to interact with staff, parents, and suppliers
- Possess a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with public liability/property damage coverage as travel may be required
