**Key Responsibilities**:
- Overall site cleanliness management and landscaping maintenance, including, but not limited to, weed control, seasonal sprinkler blowouts, exterior waterline checks, etc.
- Support the Site Manager with landscaping and yard maintenance for the owner's properties and Avana’s owned property assets.
- Operate small landscaping equipment and machinery including, but not limited to, lawn mowers and weed trimmers.
- Work collaboratively with other Maintenance Managers and the Site Manager to support all maintenance needs throughout all of Avana’s owned property assets.
- Responsible for minor landscaping project opportunities, as identified.
- Research the best products to use for weed control as well as what is pet and resident-friendly.
- Maintain small engines, tools, and equipment as needed.
- Move-out cleans of rental properties and/or appliances as required.
- Perform weekly vacant suite checks.
- Enforce and follow site safety rules to minimize work-related accidents and injuries.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- A Chemical Applicator’s License is considered an asset.
- A Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract is required. The ability to haul a trailer is an asset.
- Preference to work in a fast-paced environment and a commitment to excellence.
- Accuracy and attention to detail, possessing excellent interpersonal skills.
- Heavy lifting, working outdoors, and manual labour tasks are a large focus of the role.
- A team player with a strong ability to work independently, self-schedule, and efficiently manage their time.
- Ability to exercise tact and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Pride yourself on high-quality work. Ability to be a team player.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (i.e. Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen).
**Compensation Package**:
- **Benefits**: Dental and medical benefits package. 80% of the cost is covered by Avana. Option for employees to purchase disability and life insurance.
- **Vacation Entitlement**: Vacation days must be accumulated prior to taking them.
- **Probation Period**: The probation period is 90 days from the start date listed.
- **Criminal Record Checks **are required for all Avana employees prior to being hired. This is to be obtained at your expense and will not be reimbursed by the Employer.
