Continuous Instructor, Occupational Health

The School of Applied Sciences and Technology has an opening for a full-time Instructor in the Occupational Health and Safety Diploma Program. The program focuses on real-world issues and practical skills. Instructional assignments may include topics such as Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) development and monitoring, hazard and risk management, incident investigation, hygiene, ergonomics, fire prevention, emergency management, communications and organizational behavior and construction safety.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Preparing and delivering relevant course material
- Conducting student evaluations, maintaining records, and providing student feedback
- Participating in course and program development and reviews
- Providing student assistance and facilitating student learning
- Liaising with program staff to ensure content relevance
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent. A related Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Occupational Health or a related area would be an asset
- ROH/CIH/CRSP designation is an asset or must be eligible to obtain designation
- Current practical experience in occupational health & safety is desired
- Instructional experience at a post-secondary level would be a definite asset
- Equivalencies will be considered.
**Remuneration**: Will be commensurate with education and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Instructor salary grid $2,462.86 $4,284.36 biweekly however starting salary for a new hire averages between $2,984.26 - $3,503.70 biweekly based on education and experience). (Classification - NASA Instructor).
