Chemist Associate (Temporary)
Where will you work: - Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan (Plant site Kalium Road, Belle Plaine, SK S0G 0G0)
HOURS/SCHEDULE: 9/80
The Chemist Associate is responsible for integrating new technologies and developments with existing processes. This position will plan experiments, execute plans, and interpret results from laboratory to pilot scale.
What will you do?- Convey research findings through monthly reporting, technical peer review presentations, and regular meetings with project stakeholders.- Act as a technical services group representative in the potash business unit, facilitating technology transfer and sharing of new ideas. Contribute to the technical capabilities of other departments by advising, consulting, and providing technology demonstration support. Identify opportunities for new research initiatives aligned with Mosaic's strategic priorities. Creative and innovative ideas are fostered and encouraged.- Assist in developing and maintaining competent personnel through mentor ship and "People Leader" competencies. Initiate and participate in training courses including laboratory techniques, scientific observation, results interpretation, and specific areas of interest.- Manage competing priorities and conducting all project phases. Accountable for taking proof-of-concept design to practical process implementation while managing project.- Lead and contribute to safety initiatives through completion of safety audits, safety meetings, project reviews, chemical audits. and peer review processes.- Provide work direction to the team as well as timely and constructive feedback to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their work, roles, business goals and performance standards. Manage performance issues when necessary. Develop and coach employees in order to retain and grow organizational talent. Support employees in their career development at Mosaic.
