We are currently seeking a Processing Operator - Metal and Mineral Products to join our growing team within the Thompson/Nicola region. This position is located 30min from Merritt and/or 30min from West Kelowna. This is not a camp position and must provide own transportation.

**Job Summary**:The Processing Operator - Metal and Mineral Products is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment used to crush and grind materials. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and fix mechanical issues. Championing our safety culture by adhering to Safe Work procedures and PPE policies. Highlight your exceptional judgement and problem-solving skills. Demonstrate versatility by collaborating effectively with team members and independently taking ownership of tasks.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations
- Work safely in a mining environment following company procedures and policies
- Daily 360° inspection of all equipment for operational and safety checks
- Accurately complete all work reports and maintenance logs as required
- Operate machinery, including crushers, conveyors, and screening equipment, in a safe and efficient manner
- Monitor equipment and systems to ensure proper operation and performance
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment as needed
- Communicate with supervisors, coworkers, and maintenance personnel to ensure smooth operations
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
- Record and report equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, and production data
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies
- Assist with other tasks as needed, including cleaning and general maintenance of the plant and equipment

**Knowledge & Attributes**:

- Previous experience as a Processing Operator - Metal and Mineral Products or in a similar role
- Knowledge of crushing machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures
- Physical stamina to work long hours in challenging conditions, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy objects
- Attention to detail and ability to detect and resolve equipment malfunctions and maintenance issues
- Ability to complete mandatory orientation and indoctrination training and certification prior to start of first shift
- Class 5 Driver’s Licence and ability to provide a clean Drivers Abstract
- Operates safely with care and attention to the equipment, the jobsite, and the crew
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strict compliance with equipment cleanliness, maintenance & completing logs
- Good communication skills to interact with other team members and supervisors effectively
- High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification
- Must have or willing to obtain CSTS-09, First Aid, H2S Alive, Bear Awareness training
- Alcohol, Drug and fit to work testing is a pre-employment requirement
- Minimum age of 18 or older
