Field Agent

Field agents will be trained and will receive a Pesticide Applicator’s License. They will use ArcGIS data collection software to fulfill the contract requirements. The work is between 30 and 40 hours per week starting in the first week of June and ending in the last week of August.

GDG Canada Inc. is a sustainable applied science group dedicated to managing the risk from West Nile virus and other vector borne diseases.

**Functions**
Under the supervision of the coordinator, the field agent team is responsible treating all public roadside catch basins in the health unit region for the prevention of mosquito development using targeted larvicides.

Treatment is performed by a team of 8 daytime agents on provided bicycles and 2 overnight agents with a provided vehicle. Daytime agents coordinate in small teams but will primarily work independently all day. Overnight agents work in pairs.

Field agents will have opportunities to assist in larval sampling, trapping for adult mosquitoes, and alternative forms of treatment, when possible.

**Requirements**:

- Very good physical condition
- Discipline at work
- Autonomy and resourcefulness
- Capable of working extended hours if required.

**Salary and Benefits**
- Training to achieve a Pesticide Applicators License
- Salary is $19.38/hour with a $0.50/hour bonus for overnight treatment
