The Cook plans, coordinates and maintains kitchen facilities for the provision of complete, culturally appropriate, nutritional meals for the clients. The position involves ensuring that the kitchen is maintained in sanitary conditions, tracking the kitchen inventory/supplies, organizing the necessary paperwork for accounting purposes and supervising client kitchen duties.
- **Our Broadview facility**_ - We are pleased to be opening a new facility which will provide a full circle of integrated care for women which includes a residential program as well as an aftercare supportive stay component.

**How will you help us to get us there?**
- Maintain the kitchen in an orderly and sanitary condition as required by Toronto Public Health.
- Plan a well-balanced diet as dictated by the National Dietary Standards of Canada.
- Co-ordinate serving meals to clients and present the food in an attractive and appealing fashion.
- Maintain an advanced inventory of supplies to ensure the provision of a nutritional diet including a daily supply of milk, bread and fresh foods.
- Prepare and make available any special diets as needed.
- Monitor and maintain kitchen appliances.
- Provide menu with daily meals/snacks logged and required documentation on a weekly basis and develop monthly menus.

**What will you bring?**
- Grade 10 education or equivalent combination of skills and experience satisfactory to the Centre.
- Minimum 2 years experience in the food services industry.
- Sound knowledge of good nutrition and menu planning with specific skills in meal preparation and record keeping.
- Ability to relate to all levels of personnel, clients and visitors.
- Ability to function in an occasionally stressful environment.
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to communicate courteously and respectfully to staff and clients.
- Ability to prepare meals from scratch, along with baking.
- Ability to prepare up to 35 meals in 2.5 hours.
- Food handler certificate and WHMIS training.
- Due to COVID 19, proof of vaccination is required prior to commencement of employment.
