**Your Opportunity**

A Legal Assistant/Paralegal position is available within our Risk Management group. This role is primarily responsible for supporting our professional licensing portfolio, along with a range of legal and administrative tasks to support Stantec’s Risk Management team.

**Your Key Responsibilities**
- Draft legal correspondence including preparing letters to professional regulatory bodies and responses to licensing qualification matters
- Research professional regulatory requirements, including legal qualifications
- Assist with routing of professional licensing documentation
- Respond to internal licensing inquiries
- File and record management (including classifying and coding electronic and hardcopy files, and diarizing matters for follow up)
- Submit documents for registration with appropriate agencies (e.g., corporate registries, CSC, professional regulatory bodies)
- Coordinate and manage external counsel and service providers in connection with licensing matters
- Draft legal documents including corporate resolutions, officer certificates, Powers of Attorney and transactional documents
- Perform general administrative functions as required

**Qualifications**

- Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Motivated self-starter who takes initiative, is able to multitask, and is willing to take on tasks as needed
- Efficient, organized, high attention to detail, meticulous records maintenance skills
- Professional and capable of handling confidential matters
- Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks with mínimal supervision, and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and a positive attitude are critical

**Education and Experience**
- Three plus years of legal experience (compensation and title commensurate with experience).
- Licensing-related experience is an asset.Business or paralegal diploma from an accredited institution is an asset.
