The Role
Supporting both the Daycare Attendant and Daycare Manager, the Dog Daycare Support Worker is a key component in day-to-day logistics and care, ensuring all dogs enjoy a safe and positive experience at Woofingtons.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide dogs a pleasant, safe and controlled entrance and exit experience, walking dogs on-leash to and from
Woofingtons entrance/exit point.
- Monitor dog behavior, intervene in any potential conflicts, and provide ethical care and attention to each dog's needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the indoor and outdoor area, ensuring a clean, hygienic, and well
- maintained facility for the benefit of all.
- Assist with related tasks such as washing dogs, feeding dogs and walking dogs on leashes as required and in accordance with operational guidance.
- Ensure excellent customer service by interacting with dog owners, accepting and signing daycare pass.
- Maintain positive relationships with dogs, customers, staff, colleagues and volunteers. Contribute to a positive and effective team environment and inspire others through your example.
- Notify Daycare Manager or Attendant of any changes in dogs' health or behavior.
- Cover team member absences as needed to ensure appropriate staffing levels for dogs attending in order to maintain optimum companionship ratio.
- Complete other tasks arising, on an as-needed basis.
**Qualifications**
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to contribute effectively within a team as well as interact with customers and colleagues.
- Customer-oriented
- Must be physically able to handle the physical demands of the job, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Must,
- be willing to participate in any/all training upon request. (i.e.: WHMIS, pet & human 1st AID, OH&S etc.)
- Walking: ability to walk for up to 60 minutes
- Standing: ability to stand for up to 60 minutes
- Bending/crouching/kneeling/climbing: full abilities, used occasionally each day
- Lifting: up to 50lbs unaided, used occasionally each day
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
Schedule:
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
Work Location: In person
